About Thyme

Made by hand. Worn with intention.

Thyme Francis started designing as a little girl making whimsical dresses for her dolls and later for herself. Realizing she had a talent and passion for the craft, and with thanks to the techniques learned from her mother and grandmother, she later refined her skill by attending The Art Institute of San Francisco. ​

Learning many techniques and business practices from her teachers and mentors in the industry over the years offered Thyme a unique opportunity to work with companies large and small.
Thyme designs out of her studio located in Arcata, CA. but you can find her designs available for purchase throughout the US at specialty boutiques. All of the pieces of the Thyme Francis line are created by her and local contractors. The line consists of small run and one-of-a-kind-pieces. She often uses vintage, recycled, and eco-friendly fabrics and findings in her work to promote less pollution and to create unique pieces.​

Thyme is passionate about the whole cycle of creating a garment, from the spark of an idea, the hours at the machine, and the moment it finds the right person to wear it home.
